Responsibilities of Municipalities
1.1 The protection, utilization and exploitation of local natural resources and areas, thermal springs and mild or renewable forms of energy, as well as the construction, maintenance and management of relevant projects and facilities, in accordance with applicable law.
1.2 The design, construction, maintenance, operation and management of natural gas networks, in accordance with current legislation.
1.3 Electricity, the expansion of electricity networks and energy networks in general, within their administrative boundaries, for public purposes, as well as to stimulate the development of the local economy.
1.4 The study, construction and operation of craft centers and buildings in the special craft and industrial zones defined in the context of urban and spatial planning.
1.5 The elaboration and implementation of programs for the development of the human resources of their region.
1.6 The elaboration and implementation of research and technology programs for the development of their area.
1.7 The design, construction, maintenance and management of infrastructure to support the local economy, such as road construction, irrigation systems, flood control and land improvement projects.
1.8 The elaboration, implementation and participation in programs for the tourism development of their areas and the promotion of alternative forms of tourism, as well as the creation of resorts and other leisure and holiday facilities.
1.9 The administration and exploitation of the areas of their port of jurisdiction, as well as the construction and maintenance of the necessary port projects.
1.10 The establishment, construction, maintenance and management of municipal and community markets.
1.11 The construction, maintenance and management of liquid fuel storage facilities.
1.12 The management, utilization and exploitation of municipal and community property and the construction, maintenance and management of municipal and community buildings.
1.13 The exploitation of municipal and community forests.
1.14 The management and exploitation of municipal and community arable lands and pastures, as well as disclosed arable lands granted to them by the State.
